Surf's up for Asteron

Seven times world champion surfer Layne Beachley stepped out of the green room to inspire planners with her life story - an epic tale of comedy, tragedy and success.

Seven times world champion surfer Layne Beachley stepped out of the green room to inspire planners with her life story - an epic tale of comedy, tragedy and success.

The star female professional surfer spoke at the launch of Asteron Lifeguard in Australia's capital cities. More than 2000 advisers learned how Asteron Lifeguard could rescue their clients in times of insurance need. Planners were presented with goody bags, including rash vests (for use by those truly inspired by Beachley), sunscreen, a bucket hat and even chocolates with Lifeguard's product upgrades printed on them. EyeFA thinks someone in the marketing department may have got a little carried away.

Beachley, fresh from her brush with the financial services industry, has announced she is the new ambassador for Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, Australia's largest holiday ownership business. For the next two years she will take part in company charity events and pen a blog on its website. "The wide scope of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific means that I can take a holiday almost anywhere in Australasia at a time that is convenient to my often hectic schedule," she enthused.
