Suncorp Investment Management has hired sustainability research firm Corporate Monitor to provide research for its Ethical Balanced Trust.

Suncorp Investment Management has hired sustainability research firm Corporate Monitor to provide research for its Ethical Balanced Trust (EBT).

"Engaging Corporate Monitor's services builds on our already comprehensive internal screening process," Suncorp head of Australian equities Denis Donohue said.

"The information they provide us will enhance Suncorp's capabilities when we select or review our EBT holdings."

EBT was established 10 years ago and uses long-term fundamental valuations to invest in companies that adhere to socially responsible objectives.

"This is the type of fund that will keep ethical investors sleeping easily at night and which has the potential to influence corporate Australia's journey towards environmental and social sustainability," Corporate Monitor executive director Michael Walsh said.
