Churchill ventures out

Queensland-based risk specialist Jason Churchill has broken away from his family-founded practice to go it alone on the Gold Coast.

Queensland-based risk specialist Jason Churchill has broken away from his family-founded practice to go it alone on the Gold Coast.

Churchill was formerly a partner at Professional Investment Services (PIS) - Logan City in Shailer Park.

Step-brother Troy Edmondson started the practice in 1999. Churchill and father Allan Edmondson joined as partners in 2000.

The partners expanded the risk-only practice through clever marketing and sound advice to become one of the most successful businesses in the PIS stable.

"It was time to move on to go and do my own thing from a location point of view. The majority of my clients are on the Gold Coast where as Troy and the others' clients are in Brisbane, so I thought I'd position myself there," Churchill said.

He set up PIS-licensed Churchill Consulting Services, in Nerang, on September 1.

Business manager Kristal Costar and client relations manager Melissa Ham make up Churchill's team.

Small to medium-sized enterprises, the self-employed and average Australians make up Churchill's client base.

The practice has 800 clients, $2.5 million of in-force premium, trailing commissions of $170,000 and $12 million in funds under management.
