Venture capital manager Southern Cross Venture Partners has strengthened its presence in the United States market with the hire of two senior executives.

Venture capital manager Southern Cross Venture Partners has strengthened its presence in the United States market with the hire of two senior executives.

Southern Cross has hired Dr Larry Marshall as a managing director and Tristen Langley as an investment director.

In his new role, Marshall will join Southern Cross Venture Partners co-founder and managing director John Scull in the group's new office in Palo Alto, Silicon Valley.

Langley will join the firm's Sydney office, where she will be working alongside Christiansen and fellow managing directors Bill Bartee and Gareth Dando.

Though Sydney-based, she will be dividing her time with the Palo Alto office.

Southern Cross Venture Partners co-founder and managing director Bob Christiansen said the new US office would provide a great base to attract further US and global investment interest in Australian technology ventures.

Southern Cross Venture Partners managers the $170 million Southern Cross Fund. The fund invests in early-stage Australian technology and helps migrate the companies into the global and American markets for growth, follow-on funding and exit.

Southern Cross Venture Partners has offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Silicon Valley.

The company was launched in 2006.
