APRA has reappointed John Trowbridge as a full-time member of the executive group for another year.

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has reappointed John Trowbridge as a full-time member of the executive group for another year.

Trowbridge has been a member of APRA for three years and has assisted with the development of its prudential standards on executive remuneration in regulated institutions. He is also a member of the Financial Reporting Council.

Treasurer Wayne Swan welcomed Trowbridge's appointment.

"I am very grateful that Mr Trowbridge has agreed to serve for a further year, which will enable him to complete a number of important initiatives," Swan said.

"He has strengthened APRA's standing with the insurance industry and guided the enhancements of the general and life insurance prudential framework over recent years."

Prior to his APRA appointment in 2006, he held a number of consulting, executive and directorial roles in the actuarial and insurance industry.
